Alachua County’s growing community just west of Interstate 75 is host to a vibrant mix of residential, professional and retail offerings. Centrally located in western Alachua County, Jonesville offers convenient access to Alachua County’s western cities. Jonesville has no city government, but it is an informal name for a region on Newberry Road between Gainesville and Newberry. Gradually, the city has grown in population as Gainesville has continued to grow and residents have moved west toward less dense communities. The city has also seen an increase in the relocation of businesses. Active visitors and residents can enjoy the Jonesville Park, which provides residents with baseball fields, a mile-long track, a disc golf course, tennis courts and soccer fields among other things. Future plans show the park will ultimately incorporate a nature center, an event lawn with many activities, a BMX track, nature trails, picnic areas, an amphitheater and a full-purpose recreation center. An incorporated community in Alachua County, Jonesville is located at the intersection of County Road 241 and State Road 26 (Newberry Road).
